In this study we show how changes in the coronal heating manifest in the emission output in the solar corona and how such effects define and build into the remote sensing observations we use for plasma diagnostics. We use AWSoM, a 3D MHD coronal model with non-equilibrium heavy ion charge state calculation to reconstruct the 3D emissivity distributions of plasma under different magnetic backgrounds, and study the effects of non-equilibrium charge states on the LOS integrated observables for both spectral and narrowband imaging.
