Step UP! Bystander Intervention Program

Step UP! is an award winning, evidence-based bystander intervention program that teaches participants how to intervene in problematic situations, including mental health issues, sexual assault/interpersonal violence, substance abuse, discrimination, microaggressions and other concerns. Participants will learn common barriers to intervention as well as strategies to overcome them. This interactive training offers the basic foundation of bystander intervention and includes videos, discussions, live polling, and scenarios.

Many times, awareness of issues come only ‘after the fact’. Based on proven research and theories, Step UP! takes a comprehensive, proactive, and prevention-based approach and examines the underlying human, social and environmental influences that cause people to be inactive bystanders, while providing tools and techniques for effective intervention.

Teaching others about the determinants of prosocial behavior makes them more aware of why they sometimes don’t help and as a result, they are more likely to help in the future. See why Step UP! is considered the most versatile and comprehensive bystander intervention program available.
